Val di Chiana

The Val di Chiana area is located in the south-eastern part of the Siena region. It encompasses two small natural lake, one in Chiusi and the other one in Montepulciano. Val di Chiana means thermal baths, with the spa centers of Chianciano Terme, Montepulciano and San Casciano dei Bagni. It even means great wines such as the “Nobile” and the “Rosso” di Montepulciano (the first DOCG italian wine), high quality cold cuts (in Sinalunga) and olive oil (produced above all in Trequanda). Nature and countryside are the passwords for this area. To visit Sarteano, Torrita di Siena and the aristocratic Cetona with is mount rich in ancient attestations. To taste the famous “chianina”, a high quality beef from which the big “fiorentina” steak comes.
